118 W. Michigan
c. 1855, Commercial Gothic Revival

118 W. Michigan is an unusual style for a commercial building. Its facade was uncovered and restored in 1984, as a part on the National Trust Main Street Program, to reveal its stunning, irregular and asymmetrical Gothic fenes— tration of five tall, pointed—arch windows on the second and third floors, plus a small single, ornamental quatrefoil rossette window on the fourth level. A modest replacement cornice, similar in size and detail to the original as seen in historic photos, aptly completes the restored front.
