Jacobs House
709 Cambridge
1928, Period Tudor
The Jacobs House is in the picturesque mode of the period revivals so popular between 1920 and 1940. Originally owned by Frederick Jacobs, vice—president of a lumber yard, the house is of stucco on wood frame construction, with such typical stylistic features as wavy—bottom siding in the dormers; surface—applied half—timbering; fieldstone edge trim on the recessed front entry and other fieldstone elements, such as the chimney and bay window wainscot; and the Norman ‘swoop’ on the extended drive—through to the rear yard.
